Siemens to Acquire Danfoss Fire Safety, Strengthening Sustainable Portfolio

On the 8th October 2024, Siemens has entered into an agreement to acquire Danfoss Fire Safety, a company specialising in cutting-edge fire suppression technologies. This acquisition is set to enrich Siemens’ fire safety portfolio, adding innovative high-pressure water mist technology, a system known for its environmentally friendly and efficient fire-fighting capabilities.

This move is expected to accelerate Siemens’ transition towards more sustainable fire suppression solutions, addressing the growing demand in key sectors such as data centres, industrial facilities, and tunnels. The water mist system, which uses significantly less water, aligns with Siemens' goal of providing eco-friendly alternatives to traditional fire suppression methods.

Susanne Seitz, CEO of Siemens’ Buildings Business Unit, emphasised that the acquisition is a pivotal step towards enhancing Siemens’ offering in the fire safety industry. "By integrating Danfoss Fire Safety’s advanced technology, we’re better positioned to support our customers with sustainable solutions that meet the needs of rapidly growing industries," she noted.
